I ran eco-scriptwriting workshops at Essex Book Festival’s Climate Action Youth Summit at the Headgate Theatre, Colchester.

The Deep

I was eco-dramaturg on Eastern Angles’ autumn 2024 tour of The Deep, a play by the Icelandic writer Jón Atli Jónasson (in a version translated by Brian Fitzgibbon). I wrote programme notes about humanity’s fear of the deep ocean and facilitated post-show talks at a number of venues on the tour.

Star Sisters

I directed and was dramaturg on Star Sisters, the R&D phase of a new play in development written by Colchester-based playwright Nicola Werenowska, about the Taylor sisters who lived in Colchester in the early nineteenth century and one of whom, Jane, wrote the famous nursery rhyme “Twinke, Twinkle, Little Star”.

Mar 2024 - Jan 2025

I developed my creative practice as an eco-dramaturg, with funding from Arts Council England’s Developing Your Creative Practice scheme.

July 2024

I chaired a panel discussion at Menagerie Theatre’s Hotbed Festival at the Junction, Cambridge, exploring the role of theatre in a time of climate crisis.

Eastern Angles

With touring theatre company Eastern Angles, I have been developing ‘Give and Take, a manifesto for a theatre of reciprocity, which explores how theatre can help local communities heal environmental damage in their areas.
